We just don’t Care

August 27, 2008 · 1 Comment

It seems I enjoy listening to John Legend Nowadays. Well in particular, "Show Me" and "We Just don’t Care"…. I used to overplay "Ordinary People" which still continues to be one of my favourites. I guess having a background in keyboards, in particular playing the Piano has resulted in me having a attraction towards songs with a Piano in them. So who better than John Legend eh? And in particular, "We Just don’t care" has a nice cheeky tone to it…..Lets_go_to_the_park

Let’s go to the park

I wanna kiss you underneath the stars
Maybe we’ll go too far
We just don’t care
We just don’t care
We just don’t care.

You know I love it when you’re loving me
Sometimes it’s better when it’s publicly
I’m not ashamed I don’t care who sees
Us hugging and kissing; our love exhibition, oh.

We’ll rendezvous out on the fire escape
I’d like to set off an alarm today
The love emergency, don’t make me wait
Just follow I’ll lead you

I urgently need you, oh.

Let’s go to the park
I wanna kiss you underneath the stars
Maybe we’ll go too far
We just don’t care
We just don’t care

We just don

‘t –

Let’s make love,

let’s go somewhere they might discover us

Let’s get lost in lu

st
We just don’t care
We just don’t care
We just don’t care.

I see you closing down the restaurant
Let’s sneak and do it when your boss is gone
Everybody’s leaving we’ll have some fun
Oh, maybe it’s wrong but you’re turning me on

I_wanna_kiss_you_underneath_the_stars_1

Ohh, we’ll take a visit to your Mama’s house
Creep to the bedroom while your Mama’s out
Maybe she’ll hear it when we scream and shout
But we’ll keep it rocking until she comes knocking.

Let’s go to the park
I wanna kiss you underneath the stars
Maybe we’ll go too far

We just don’t care
We just don’t care
We just don’t –

Let’s make love,

let’s go somewhere they might discover us.

Let’s get lost in lust
We just don’t care
We just don’t care
We just don’t care.

If we keep up all this fooling around

We’ll be the talk of the town
I’ll show the world all my love anytime
Let’s open the blinds
‘Cause we really don’t mind.

Oh, I don’t care about propriety

Let’s break the rules; ignore society

Maybe our neighbors like to spy, it’s true
So what if they watch when we do what we do, oh.

Let’s go to the park
I wanna kiss you underneath the stars
Maybe we’ll go too far

We just don’t care
We just don’t care

We just don’t –

Let’s make love,

let’s go somewhere they might discover us.
Let’s get lost in lust
We just don’t care

We just don’t care
We just don’t care.

Ain’t that right Baybee?

Vel Vel!…..Vel Vel!…..

February 7, 2007 · No Comments

Resize_of_rotation_of_img_0196 Made a trip to Batu Caves on the Eve of Thaipusam last week(Jan 31st). This would be my 2nd time attending Thaipussam at night, and the 3rd time overall with once being in the day time with my old Indonesian housemates back in 2001. I’d already learnt from the previous occasion, so this time…No bag, No Phone and minimal belongings that I brought along except for my camera. I was expecting a bigger crowd this year around as it was Visit Malaysia year, and I wasn’t dissapointed with the turnout.Resize_of_img_0149

Me and YiKang parked our car about a kilometre away for a price of RM5 which was really cheap and really near given the situation there. Illegal parking attendants were everywhere and unfortunatly for a friend of mine who parked 3km away, he was charged a whooping RM15. But there was nothing you could do given the circumstances. So I made my way to the main entrance and found that it was JAM PACKED. The crowd was practicaly static due to the unimaginable turnout and a criss crossing of paths…I parked my self on the curb on the flyover to capture some shots and survey the situation. Finally decided to enter thru the 3rd gate which happened to be the VIP & Polica Exit gate. The crowd started getting rowdy as the FRU personnel were yelling for everybody to move aside for the outgoing traffic of OFF DUTY Police. If they had the cowsense, they would have planned it properly and probably NOT PARKED all their Motocycles at the gate.

Resize_of_img_0165 Resize_of_img_0216  Caught a few more pics after entering, and also took a breather after forcing our way thru the crowd. Then we started to brave outselves for the ascent to the cave. It was awe inspiring to finally catch the statue of Lord Muruga in the flesh. The previous occasion I was here, he was still being built. So up we went, counting till step 272. It was a slow process as some tired devotees stopped halfway to catch their breaths. And after climbing for a good 5-10minutes, I arrived at the mouth of the cave.

Resize_of_img_0265 Never did I expect that there would still be such a huge crowd gathering at the top. It was another sea of people but was much less stuffy as compared to the base. I found a corner near the centre and set up camp there while savouring every moment of being there. There were all sorts of Kavadi’s. Big ones, small ones, wide ones, tall ones. There were also a lot of young kavadi bearers as well as little girls carrying jars/jugs of milk. There was the occasional rabid devotee which seemed to be fighting a losing battle with whatever spirit had possesed him. Then I spotted a devotee accompanied by 4 Chinamans. Were they his friends, Family or even triad Members maybe? Whatever or whoever they were, this particular individual seemed to be drawing a crowd of devotees by himself. A quick check with my friend Jega, told me that he was posessed by a demi-god or some like of that and could tell the future and give advice.Resize_of_img_0362 Resize_of_img_0354 Whoever he was, he startled me when he crossed me the first time.

Alas, After spending a good 2-3 hours up at the cave, we decided to make our descent. It was much smoother this time and a lot less pushing and shoving. But as we reached the mouth of the cave exiting, there was a bottleneck so it was still a bit of a wait for us. We did make it thru not much later, and starting descending the stairs. Now I got a good view of the whole area below me and my oh my, how the crowd had picked up. Maybe everybody has decided that Night time would be a better time to visit the place as it was cooler and maybe there would be less people int he wee hours of the morning. How everybody thinked alike. So we have a crowd here probably rivalling the day crowd if not bigger. Resize_of_img_0367

By this time, it was already 5AM. I was dreading staying too long but it was up to my friends who were driving to decide what time we could leave. Yi Kang went back on his own and I made my way thru the crowd yet again to get to my friends car parked a good 3KM away. By the time I reached Bangsar, it was 6:30AM, Then off to breakfast till 7+. When I got home, I fell into bed like a slaughtered donkey, slept like a log, and probably moaned like a dying camel when being awakened. Got up finally in time for lunch at 4PM…..

Good times…. :)

A City So Nice, They Flooded it Twice…..”Kluang,Kluang”

February 7, 2007 · No Comments

Resize_of_img_4328_2 Ok. Well Maybe "City" Only wouldn’t be appropriate for usage in this matter. It wouldn’t do justice to the thousands of others outside the district of Kluang who have also suffered the same fate. So, "A State So Nice, "THEY"?….. GOD LAR…….  OK…. "A State So Nice, God Flooded it Twice"…Sounds better now…..Resize_of_img_4318_6

Anyway, Kluang wasn’t as badly affected compared to other flood hit areas such as Batu Pahat and especially Kota Tinggi. Sure, we had like the No.1 or No.2 highest number of evaucees, but a lot of them managed to salvage or secure their belongings at home by storing them at high places.Resize_of_img_4326  Besides, flood waters were only knee to waist deep here. Compare that to Kota Tinggi which was as high as a 1 storey building.. As usual, the townsfolk of this sleepy town were out and about to witness this uncommon event. Well, we do have heavy rainfall at least a few days a year, but never like what had happened recently. Anyway, it was exciting times for some, like yours truly. But at the expense of others who were affected. I dropped by an ex-teachers house during the floods. He recalled the events of the day and how he went about minimizing damage to his house and family. Water came in So fast they was hardly anything to prepare for. But luckily for him, it was only knee deep and most things were able to be kept dry…. There was a lot of cleaning afterwards thou….. The same thing couldn’t be said for his neighbour though…Resize_of_img_4437

As the water subsided, I took a walk with some friends around the affected areas. Seems like the atmosphere wasn’t as gloomy as thought. People were out with their cameras taking pictures,Resize_of_img_4428  playing around in the floodwaters or even some with the audasity to swim in it…. Yuck!!! You know that it was a carnivale atmosphere the minute you see foreign workers with their girlfriends walking around catching the sights….What a romantic way to spend time don’t you think…. Oh, and fathers bringing their children out for walks in the floodwaters. It looked too filthy especially at the town areas for my liking. Can you imagine the sewerage? I mean, all the drains there were basically churned up…..Eeeeeeek…                    Resize_of_img_4377_1

So, days have passed and most have been forgotten about that day. Save the river sand on the roads that reminds us where the currents were…….. I would say the 2nd wave was handled more efficiently. The authorities did well in rounding up the people swiftly and went about their duties helping out. Though I would not like to see all those people suffer yet again, the curious in me would like to know how the situation would be NOW should this town flood again…?

Naughty Naughty!

Piel Frama

January 6, 2007 · No Comments

I don’t usually write reviews on stuff. I guess this is my first of many to come. It has to start somewhere doesn’t it?

Resize_of_img_4183_5

Established in 1948, Piel Frama started off making leather products like bags, handbags, leather sleeves and cigar cases. But keeping up to the times, they have expanded their business to a new market of gadgets and computers. Based in Cadiz, Spain, You wouldn’t bet against them making some of the best pure leather cowskin cases coming from the land of the toreadors.

Resize_of_img_4127_6

Known as the main competitor to another famous leather manufacturing company, Vaja which is Argentinean, Piel Frama is starting to come up to par, if not having the edge over its South American rival by concentrating on Customer Care and first Impressions adding to the already world famous quality of hand made leather products.

Right from the start, the impression was good for me. Barely hours after ordering a case for my Dopod 838Pro, their export executive Angelica emailed me to notify that my order has been confirmed and they will start shipping that very day thru UPS. And to my delight, the package arrived at my doorstep from Spain just 3 days later. Talk about efficiency.  Resize_of_img_4130_1As for presentation, the leather casing came in a textured cream coloured box with a simple embossed bull logo and Piel Frama words in red. When I opened the box, there was another layer with Piel Frama on it before I got a view of my case. Oh and the smell of leather was really strong to add :)

It didn’t dissapoint. With only pictures from their website to guide me, I was a bit worried I might not Resize_of_img_4136_1

have agreed with the product in the flesh but hey hey, to my surprise, it was better than what I had expected. The stiching was flawless mostly and thats saying something for a handmade product that it is. Upon removal of the case itself, there was the usual certificates, mini catalogue, Resize_of_img_4137 screws and belt-clip. Resize_of_img_4148_4

The etched message from Piel Frama reminds you about the uniqueness of each and every product of theirs that rolls out of the company.

The problem I had when I initially got my Dopod was that the bundled leather case was in short a "Bitch" to use. I am clueless as to why Dopod didn’t test it out thoroughly before bundling it with the Dopod 838Pro. When I got my PDA 5months back, after a week of using the bundled case I threw it into cold storage and my pda was left naked till now. With the bundled case on, you would suddenly trigger internet explorer, or suddenly the screen orientation will change from potrait to lanscape. I finally found out that the magnets used to fasten the case was too strong and it started screwing up the mechanisms inside the PDA. At least I can sleep sound now knowing that my gadget has clothes now…Yeah…It sounds lame. but its to protect my investment. Resize_of_img_4173

The overall black leather combined with tan is unlike any other leather Casings I’ve purchased my other PDAs. Even my O2 Mini had a single tone CAPDASE which although is of maroon in colour, is a pale comparison to this. The contrast of colour itself shouts out "Im different baby!" and a twist from the normally dull variety available here. Yes thats right, there are only Dull black leather casings for this model in whole of Malaysia. THey of course are manufactured by other reputable companies like Brando, Krusells and CAPDASE but lacked imagination, Of course they cost 1/3 the price I paid for this Piel Frama.

Resize_of_img_4162Resize_of_img_4169_1 Being a device with a slideout keypad, there would be problems manufacturing cases as most cases would fasten the device into place by griping at the sides. Piel Frama came out with a design where the kayboard would be secured leaving the top LCD free to move in and out. At the same time, the keyboard would be wrapped in a thin plastic layer to protect from smudges and long term wear and tare on the buttons.Resize_of_img_4179 Resize_of_img_4172

Though adding a bit of bulk to this already bulky device, at a thickness of 3cm give or take, it is still bearable. The backportion had to be slightly thicker to protect the buldging camera from grazing the surface of tables or wherever the device is placed on.The beltclip is removable with a provided tool and a small cap to close the hole and make it look neat.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the case after months of searching for a suitable one. The 60 EURO$ might be a little steep for a leather casing, but you get what you pay for and in this case, it really was a piece of class. Those interested to get any leather products from them should visit their webbie at www.pielframa.com . I was not paid to advertise for them…. :P

July SUCKED. Thank God it went away!

August 6, 2006 · 6 Comments

Ahh…and here I am. Back to blogging. Its not as if I’ve been doing it regualarly. Its a place to vent your feelings be it joy, anger or frustrations anyway right? So I hope you bear with my rantings. July Truly sucked big time for me. Im looking forward to the coming months.

So how did it start? Well, it was going pretty well actually. Italy won the WORLD CUP. Which was a the only glitter in this month of faeces. Dang, I think I got pickpocketed. I bloody lost my O2 Mini in the bank of all places. I’ve hardly ever heard a tale of someone losing something in the bank.,….But maybe I have and it slipped my mind. But anyway, for 14 months using my PDA, I’ve never left it/forgotten it or whatever it anytime before. Its like and extension of my body. My day functions because of it. Heck, my brain shutdown whenever it comes to being reminded by stuffs so thats where the functions of a pda/phone comes in. In this case I think I was over relient on it. But then that would be driving force to not let if off my eye one second right? Shit. It had to happened now…. I remember i had it all the time. CCTV Camera’s reviewed by the Bank Manager was a negative and that I never left it in the bank….So how? Next best conclusion was a pickpocket right? Cos when I left the front door, I felt my pants were lighter…and a quick check revealved a cavity once filled with a leather casing bearing a gadget inside. So I went back in and borrowed the counter phone to call my phone. It was ringing but there was no sound inside the bank. Just 5 minuted before that I was on it calling someone regarding some bank account numbers….It had to be in there…..Was it the sneering guard constantly staring at me? Or that mysterious looking office boy? Whoever it was, the culprit sent insulting messages to my family members. It stings I tell ya. And to rub salt into my wounds, the lady police officer I went to make my report to made me confess that I left my phone and that someone had taken it. I would have adhered to here advise and be done with it and walk the F*CK out had I not just seen here antics flashing her pistol to her colleagues before surrendering a purse(Yes and its a purse normally for coins) full of bullets to her superiors who were also into the clown act. I would go on and on about the quality of people being recruited into our police force, but then i might ruffle some feathers and I’d rather bitch about how bad the month went of after that.

On to more puny issues, my rabbit was murdered. Poor Lola was a bundle of joy. Had only kept him for a few months but have grown into in as a family pet. You might be thinking, why is Lola a he since the most famous Lola bunny was actually Bugs Bunny’s love interest. Well, we couldn’t tell if it was a he or a she upon receiving it. So we assumed it was a she since there was…erm….nothing sticking out. But a few months after that, there were these sacks of flesh which I could only assume were reproductive organs starting protruding where the sun don’t shine. Blimey, we have a situation here. "To change, or not to change?" Its name I mean. So we decided to stick with it….Oh yah. How did he get murdered? Well we’d normally let Lola out into the garden for his daily dose of sunshine and excercise. It happened that I was too mody loosing my phone and that everyone else forgot to bring him in that alarm bells rang. Oh. We’ve never let him out till after dusk before. Well it turned out to be the first and the last. The maid came in to inform us the bunny was dead. I was like WHAT????? …..So I went to to see and true enough his lifeless body was laying among the pandan leaves….And the culprit/murderer was in beaming in victory over the hapless rabbit. A black cat it was. A male. The same bugger singing his lovesongs like a dying camel every night. I’ve chased that cat with raging hormones umpteen times before with my SuperSoaker. But the fella keeps coming back. All I can say that, there’s going to be a dead black cat in this house. Lessons’s I’ve learned from this. Rabbits are stupid animals….Don’t trust them to be on their own and be safe….

As the month was coming to an end. Then there was this stupid war. Im bitching about it as it severely affected the stock market on the 14th. Damn did I make some bad calls that day. Some of my good earned cash ready to be spent on a new PDA/Phone is going down the drain. Lucky it was just paperloss as they call it. As long as the market recovers, the prices will go up. I think I’ll just keep it short and bitter for the last one.

Argh. Hungy Ghost month extended to 2 months this time ar? AIya…does it mean I have to be carefull when I go out or just be carefull? I just hope that things get better in this dark period(Chinese Beliefs)…I will be travelling a bit and can only hope for the best.

P:S And Miss Japan didn’t win which Im also bitter about. Why would a girl who speaks 4 languages and has ambition take 2nd place to a Michael Jackson Lookalike Bimbo? "Only Donald has the answer" (Sing to SMARTIES tune)

Teh Tarik Please

March 28, 2006 · 5 Comments

As we all know the fav drink of the nation is the famous "Teh Tarik". A direct translation would yield the term Pull-Tea. Imagine what the foreigners are thinking about it. What are these bafoons doing with this Pull-Tea. But my guess is after a sip from a well brewed cup they would be suckers for it. Haha me no exception. I absolutely will have to order one when I get to the Sarabat Stalls/Mamak Shops. Be it too sweet or lacking the tea somehow it still taste good. Back in my hometown I try to savour the best by mamak hopping whenever me and my friends are able to. But most of the time we’re either too lazy or too cosy in out seats that we’d just settle for one place

The Banana Leaf Rice shop along Station Road in Kluang a.k.a Little India used to serve a wicked cuppa. But standards nowadays leaves much to be desired. They just don’t make tea like they used to. Its now a tad too much milk and virtually missing the Tea. Im guessing the fuel hike have driven them to re-use the tea leafs unlike the Chinese Coffee Shops that brew really strong (Kao!) teas. Not that I don’t go to Chinese shops to drink. I do, whenever I want some toast-bread a.k.a Roti-Bakar to go with my drink. Its like a war going on here in Kluang. We’re famous for our locally manufactured Coffee(Televison Brand). I ain’t Kidding. The most famous Coffee and Toast shop in Malaysia hails from this town situated in the Railway Station. It has been opened since 1938 if I remember correctly. It hasn’t changed much since then and the food served is always satifying. Due to this power struggle between Coffee and Tea I have since designated Coffee for tEa TimE and Teh-Tarik for Supper.

*This is not an advertisement*

Not too long ago I got a chance to dine at Brickfields in Kuala Lumpur. Noticably a very dense Indian population there I know I wasn’t going to be dissapointed. Had dinner at Vithyas Curry house and my did they serve great food. The atmosphere there was good too being a shop of higher standards. Heck they have service charge so you’d expect clean floors and toilet paper. There was a smogeboard of dishes to choose from to compliment the rice. The Teh-Tarik there was great too. Smooth and served in a stainless steel cup and a matching saucer which is meant for you to "tarik" it should it be too hot. They should make this a standard for teh-tarik shops around here. I can only hope….*sigh*…what a way it was to cap of a great meal….*SLURP!!*
